SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Friday May1st at 5PM. 2K Uphill only race to the top of Challenger Peak above the Rapid River Trailhead. This will most likely be around 2 miles long with about 2500' of climbing. You will finish on top of the mountain and we will walk down together.
Saturday May 2nd:
6:00AM: Parking and runner check-in begins at the Deveny Meadow on your right as you drive up Rapid River Road. Park here, check-in and we will start the race at the Hatchery (further up the Rapid River Road). We stay at the Deveny land until about 6:45 to get everyone parked then walk towards the start. Restrooms are at the Hatchery and just above at the Trailhead. We will do a briefing at the start line a few mins before 7AM at the start area.
7:00AM 53K start
8:00AM 26K start
TBA: Cutoff at Potter Flat for 53K runners. Any runner missing this time at mile 11.25 will convert to a 26K for an official finish.
TBA: Cutoff at Rattlesnake Trailhead. This will be a DNF point if you miss this cutoff. Volunteers will drive you back down after the aid station shuts down, or friend and family can retrieve you.
TBA: Final cutoff time for all runners for an official finish at the Hatchery. Leaning towards 7 or 8PM.
WHERE: Rapid River Fish Hatchery, Riggins, ID. This is about 40 miles north of McCall on Highway 95, 2 miles west on Rapid River Road to Hatchery at dead end. City of Riggins is about 5 miles from start/finish area, plenty of amenities.
COURSES: Count on the most beautiful and pristine canyon trails you have ever seen and giant vertical gain once out of the canyon bottom. Launch into the open country alpine realm of Cannonball Mountain. Few races on earth match the vertical relief, jaw dropping views, abundant wildlife and unforgettable mountain running terrain.
